Why this course?

Most online gardening resources I've found come from veteran gardeners. Though their knowledge is incredibly beneficial, they have forgotten what it means to be a beginner and it's hard for them to convey the most basic of information to those just starting. I haven't forgotten what it's like to be a beginner, so I can better help those needing to start from scratch.

It took me several years of trial, error, failure, and success to learn what I'm teaching you in one season. That's not even counting the hours and hours of research I've poured myself into -- time you won't have to spend.

Even with a small garden planned strategically, this course could easily pay for itself in one season. If you use one bell pepper in your kitchen per week, this crop alone will pay for your course and then some!

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course through December 31, 2018 - across any and all devices you own.
What if, after purchasing, I decide this course is not for me?
My goal is to help you plan and grow your own garden. If you decide this course doesn't meet your expectations, contact me in the first 30 days and I will give you a full refund.
What garden zone is your class suited for?
The first set of training videos -- where you will plan your garden -- will work for anyone, although gardeners in Zones 6-8 will gain the most from the other videos of this course. I live in Arkansas Zone 7 in the United States, and my garden season runs from April 1 to November 1. While Zone 7 gardeners with a similar growing season will benefit most from the timing elements of the class, many of the course modules are easily adaptable to other zones and regions.
Is this course just for those who have or want large gardens?
Not at all! In fact, my course content will cater more to those with less than 500 square feet of garden space, though those with larger gardens will certainly benefit as well.
What can I expect from the Facebook Group?
In addition to a weekly Facebook Live demonstration (February - May), I will personally be involved in the group where you can ask questions of me and of the gardening community within the group. This group will stay live throughout the garden season for you to ask questions as they arise in your garden. In addition, I will post resources and helpful tools within the group.
For the VIP and VIP Plus options, what will the coaching calls entail?
For the first call, I will ask you questions about the goals of your garden and what you hope to accomplish. I’ll find out your zone, your average last frost date, and more information on your climate that will impact your gardening decisions. For the VIP, I will coach you on suggestions for your garden and specifics in it. For VIP Plus, I’ll take that information and present you with a personalized garden plan for you to execute. The follow-up calls will be primarily to help you as you begin planting.
For the VIP Plus option, what will I receive in my garden plan?
Think of it as a garden plan in a box! First, I’ll send you a layout of your potential crops in the garden space, based on whether you will plant in raised beds or in the ground, for a space up to 500 square feet. Then, based on our call, I’ll present you with a planting schedule for those crops, whether you purchase seeds or transplants.

Jill McSheehy

I'm Jill, and I started my first garden in 2013. I started from literally the ground up -- no established garden and no knowledge. I spent countless hours researching and learning, though even that didn't save me from some beginning gardening mistakes. But even through those failures, the gardening bug bit me, and I was hooked. Each season has brought me immeasurable joy and a desire to continue. Now, with five years behind me, I want to help the beginner -- like I was -- grow your own productive garden -- big or small! I want to save you the time it took me in research and failures so you can harvest from your dream garden this season!
